–«Heads down for the best stoner rock trip in ages…»–

It’s been a while since the release of our new album, and now we’ve collected some fine reviews from all over this planet; like in Scottish magazine Dead Earnest, which says: «Heads down for the best stoner rock trip in ages». The Belgian Music Zine writes that the album is «Quarante six petites minutes de pur bonheur synthétique», and adds: «Attention quand même au retour à la réalité»! US American The Obelisk declares: «When they spread out and introduce the atmospherics the effect is hypnotic as only psych rock at its best can be», and Nick Joyce from Basler Zeitung thinks that: «Derart skurrile und mutige Rockmusik hat nicht nur auf der Erde Seltenheitswert, sondern im ganzen Sonnensystem». As if you would understand it anyway. Never mind, it’s very cool.

All these reviews from all over the world can only mean we must be doing something right, right? And we’re very happy that those “relevant” and “cool” radio-stations arer still sending our songs out over the ether and internet-stream. Thanks to: Stone Edge (France), Scorpio (Belgium), DRS 3 (Switzerland), AFK (Germany), Activity (USA) and last but not least 320 Trainwreck (hello Roxanne)!

Thanks also to all of you who bought the album, wrote us and talked to us, and stick to Phased and it’s tiny universe of giant sound and colourful humour. We remain the humble shoe-shine boys of rock’s ruling elite and salute you.

–album out now–

Finally… «A Sort Of Spasmic Phlegm Induced By Leaden Fumes Of Pleasure» is in the shops! It’s out on Elektrohasch Records and you can orfder it at your local music-dealer, in cool internet shops like Stonerrock.com, Kozmik Artifactz, etc. – or directly via Elektrohasch or us, here on the homepage (see «Shop»). –A Sort Of Spasmic Phlegm Induced By Leaden Fumes Of Pleasure–

All you spacerock and doom fanatics: our label Elektrohasch will release our new album pretty soon…. AND has booked Phased for this years Swamp Room Festival in Munich! 19th september is the night of doom.

As for the album, we are waiting for the last details – barcode and catalogue number – then we can send the heavy package to the pressing plant. The CD has eight heavy songs and features guest synth noise by Scott Heller of the Øresund Space Collective. It goes down smooth and is an album for staying at home and lighting the bong.

–Recording of new album finished!–

We’ve done it again: in 9 days we recorded our new album at VO Pulver’s Little Creek Studio in Gelterkinden, Switzerland. It was an intense period and the fog was down upon us almost every day. Nevertheless we recorded and mixed 7 new songs and an old Phased classic. We hope the album will be released by May, and that we can plan a little tour of old Germany for autumn.

And what does the new album sound like? Well… we’ll only tell this much: it is heavier than “Medications”, and spacier in a hippie-stoner way. Pick up your bongs and inhale! Two of the songs are even over 10 minutes long… as long as it takes to spell out the new album’s title. But you’ll be able to read it on the cover come springtime!

–Live action and studio activity–

We are happy to announce that we’ll be going to Little Creek studio and will be recording another album with VO Pulver in 2009 – we have booked studio time from late January on, so now we are rehearsing and have added three January concerts before recording starts – two are together with Italian doom-gals & boys Stake-Off The Witch and one is with our buddies from Pornolé.

–Old is the new in again–

Once again, we exchange bass-players. The successor to Michael Greilinger returns to the fold – welcome back Chris Walt! May he be with us forever!
After Michael quit in 2001, it was Chris W. that stepped up to replace him. When he left in 2007, Michael expressed an interested to return. But after threading water for a year we’ve settled with the old bald-heads that we are. Tight as an anus, Phased is back.

–Big business and finance–

We’re sorry to have to inform you, that the open-air festival in Gross Liebitz has been canceled due to financial reasons. This is the second festival appearance that cancels the whole event on us after the Swamp Room Happening.

We’re off on holidays. Hope to bring you some good news next month.

–Nihil Slayride clip at Videoex in Zürich–

The video to Nihil Slayride – as made by Silvia Bergmann – will be shown at the Videoex days in Zürich (starting 24th May!). 15 Swiss videos were chosen out of 200 applications – ours is amongst the lucky ones! If you have the chance to go and see it do so, it’s cool – check the homepage of videoex for timetables and stuff. For those of you who will not be able to attend: you can watch the video on Submag TV – check «Top Friends» on our MySpace site….

–Swamp Room Happening cancelled–

This year’s complete Swamp Room Happening, and therefore also our appearance at the Elektrohasch label-night, regretfully has been cancelled on short notice. We do hope there is a future for the festival, and that we can play there another time…
